2007 Pennsylvania Bear Season

Our 2007 Pennsylvania Bear Season turned out to be our best year yet.  In our 5th year of doing our fully guided bear hunts we had our largest group to date.  In total we had 13 bear hunters at camp.

The first morning of camp was a little rough, with a nasty snowstorm coming in during the middle of the night everybody at camp was awakened to a power outage.  But everybody was able to get all of their hunting gear around and get a quick bite to eat.

The first drive of the Bear Season provided us with our first Bear of the 2007 season.  Dan on took this bear that weighed 257 lbs right at the end of the drive.  This was Dan's 3rd Bear Season with us.

On the 3rd Drive of the day, Vince took this 372 lbs Pennsylvania Black Bear down with one shot.  This was Vince's 2nd consecutive Bear season with us.

The last two days at camp weren't quite as good as the first day, with the loss of a couple hunters that either tagged out or had to get home for personal reasons, we just couldn't cover the area that we wanted too.

We had a couple chances each day to harvest a Bear but never connected.  Each of the 13 hunters at camp had Bear sightings.  We all look forward to the 2008 Bear Season with hopes of improving and having even a better year then in 2007.
