Hi Guys this is a brand new page we would like to add to our website.  We have received hundreds of emails in the past from hunters who wanted to thank us and tell us how much they enjoyed their hunt, so we wanted to create a page that will allow hunters to post their comments about their hunt.  If you would like to post a comment please email us at tiogaboarhunting@yahoo.com and include your name, date of the hunt, species hunted, how many hunts you have had at Tioga, and your comments.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to help us out...

This Page was launched on 3/13/08

Tioga,
Hello to all that is involved with Tioga.  Thanks again for another great trip.  I have traveled and hunted other areas of the country and I have to say, you guys are great.  I think what separates you guys from some other is just how all of you treat all your hunters as if they were family.  Bottom to top very professional and knowledgeable of the game in which you are hunting to get you the best trophy in which you are seeking.  Special thanks again to Mark for helping me and Greg with our hunts.
Sincerely,
Bob Burns

Greetings to all at Tioga,
I have hunted at Tioga for several years now, and have yet to be disappointed.  In 2005, I hunted for a Black Russian Boar, and was blessed to harvest one well over 200 pounds.  He is now a beautiful conversation piece on my wall.  My guide, did a wonderful job of putting me in the right place to see several boar.  After several attempts, my 30-06 cracked, and my boar was down.  It was a very exciting hunt, and to hunt an animal that can easily become the hunter, adds to the thrill of the hunt.  My guide stressed the fact for me to wait for the right shot, and put it down.  I also enjoy the fact that the guides at Tioga are unarmed.  It is all up to the hunter.
In 2007, I returned to Tioga to hunt the Rocky Mountain Ram, an animal I have always wanted to add to my trophy room.  After arriving, getting settled in a wonderful, comfortable, clean, room at the lodge, I went to the rifle range and made sure my rifle was on the mark.  The next morning we were up early, had a great breakfast, I met my guide and we were off.  However I became side tracked when a 5x6 Red Stag caught my eye.  After watching this animal for sometime, I told my guide that we needed to hunt him.,  Later after several setups and moves, my TC Encore 300 Win Mag hammer came down and so did my Stag.  What a hunt that was, and a beautiful trophy.  On that same hunt, I was able to take a Fallow Doe which turned out to be a real challenge.  These animals are very spooky, hardly ever stop, herd up tight, and the shots are usually at a good distance away.  My shot was well over the 200 yard mark.
I was also very impressed with the field safety at Tioga.  All the guides are aware of their area, work together well, and know where the other hunters are.  The food is out of this world, with several types of wild game served daily, with all the side dishes, and deserts, with the coffee pot always on.  The weight one looses in the filed, is gained back at the table.  However, I have yet to hunt the Rocky Mountain Ram, so that means a return to Tioga in 2008.  I wonder if I will become side tracked again?
In closing, I again , cannot say enough for my guide, a great guy, and knows what he is doing.  If the hunter is a good listener, he will take home his trophy.
Sincerely,
Norm Cox

To the Tioga Boar Preserve,
I surprised my husband for his 50th birthday with a trip to your preserve on 5/3/08.  We had a blast!!  Everything was great from the food and the gals who cooked it to the guides Rodney and Rex.  We could not have been treated better!!  As a woman, I run into a lot of "men" who make snide remarks and treat me in a condescending manner--not here!!  The guides and the other guests were friendly, polite, and fair. Thank you for making this a wonderful memory that we hope to repeat in the near future with our children..
Sincerely yours,

Hello to all at Tioga,
My step father, Conrad and myself, Bob, hunted at Tioga on April 19, 2008.  Let me start by saying tat are guided did an outstanding job, from their hospitality to their knowledge of the game we were after to the processing of it.  We let them know what we were after and they helped us get it.  Conrad took a 220 lbs Sow and I got a 250 lbs Sow.  The overall experience was great.  Everyone was very friendly.  This was our first time on a guided hunt and first at Tioga.  We would gladly recommend hunting at Tioga to any hunter.  We will definitely be going again.  Thank you again Tioga.
Sincerely,
Bob

Tioga,
At 57, each year brings a winter that's a little colder then the last and familiar hills that were easy to climb are a little steeper then they were the year before.  Even though I am powerless to hold back the hands of time my good friends at Tioga make my hunts there as enjoyable as the first time I walked through there door.  Since I started hunting exotics I've always wanted  a trophy Mouflon that would stand out among the other game animals that I've been fortunate to take in my lifetime.  Let me say now that I've succeeded in taking that trophy Mouflon and Tioga Hunting Preserve made it all possible.  Good friends, good food, and good guns equal a great hunt which can all be found at Tioga.

I must first say thanks to our guides, Mike and Carl, these gentleman were extremely knowledgeable, made us feel very comfortable and added much pleasure to the overall experience.  To all hunters, this was a great experience for myself and the other hunters in my party.  I have been hunting for several years now and I would have to say this was one of the best experiences I have ever had.  They cater to all levels of experience to insure successful hunting.  Spotting the various game while staling was heart pounding and the hunt will provide more than enough challenge for any level of hunter.  The Boar and Rocky Mountain Ram I bagged were great!! I should add that the lodging, food, and staff were terrific.
Thanks again Tioga, we will definitely return, hopefully with my son, to enjoy your hospitality.
Sincerely,

To my fellow hunters at Tioga Ranch,
Allow me to say that the experience at Tioga you will encounter is unparallel to any other.  I am proud to say that I have accumulated over the years over eighteen trophies (all wall hangers).  And it must be noted that during the 2007 Bear season at Tioga I harvested a 257 lb trophy.  This would have never been possible without the professionals at Tioga.  If a fellow sportsman is looking for a great experience that they will never forget, you need look no further than Tioga, believe me when I tell you that not only the experience, but also the personable attention you are given will bring you back time and time again.
Sincerely,

Tioga is GREAT.  In all aspects.  My father and I shared the experience.  I hunted that Saturday and he played camera man.  Derek was my guide, we had a quick successful hunt and recommend him to any hunter.  He made me feel comfortable that he knew the woods as well as the animals that we were hunting.  All the guides were so polite and knowledgeable, they made everyone so comfortable.  The whole experience of hunting with you guys was great.  It has that true hunting feeling from the beautiful scenery to the hunting lodge itself.  I cant wait for the future hunts that I will have with you guys.

Sincerely,
Anthony Messina

Tioga, I've lost count of exactly how many hunts I've been on at Tioga and they were all excellent, however, I have to comment on the last two which were a trophy Whitetail and a Bison hunt with a turkey thrown in for good measure.  The guides all said that I should be ready for a good Whitetail, but when that deer came up the game trail and the sunlight hit his antlers I shook like the first time when I had a deer in my sights.  He was the biggest I've seen in over 20 years of hunting...As a matter of fact I pulled my first shot and only because of the expert help from Tioga's experienced guides was I able to put my trophy of a lifetime down for keeps.  The Bison...let me say now that I've hunted Cape Buffalo in Africa and the bull I took at Tioga was almost equal in size and just about as hard to put down.  I used my Freedom Arms 454 with a 300 grain bullet and placement of the round is critical with an animal of this size when using a handgun.  Again, the guides set me up in the best position for a kill shot and as you can see in the photo...I got my Buff!!!!  This story's not over because later in the day I took a trophy with my handgun that I've been trying to get for the last 7 years without success.  That trophy is none other then North Americas own wild Turkey.  As we still hunted Tioga's vast woodlands I caught some movement behind a pile of blow down trees.  What's this???Why yes...its the head and neck of a turkey which I have to say now was trying to hide from us.  I sat down with my back against a tree and brought my 454 to rest on my knees.  The head and neck of a turkey that's 40 yards away makes for a small target so I cranked my variable power Leopold up to 8x.  This had to be one of the hardest game shots I've ever taken with my handgun as I held my breath and tried to squeeze the trigger with the greatest of concentration.  BOOM!!!  As the gun barrel rose in recoil the head of the bird disappeared and all became still...  $0 yards away nothing moved as we made our way to that pile of logs where the turkey last stood.  There among the wood and loose feathers lay my bird with a bullet hole "smack dab" in the center of his neck.  That, like some many others, was how my day ended at Tioga Hunting Preserve with what I would say was a "damn good hunt".
Sincerely,
James Swydrik

Hello to any hunter that's reading messages posted.  I've hunted at Tioga Boar Hunting Preserve a couple of times.  I have found the people to be the best kind of people to know, the food is great, the accommodations are just as good.  An ample supply of animals to hunt in large hunting areas.  I would recommend this hunting preserve to everyone and I plan on hunting there in the future.  Thanks guys for some good hunts
Truly,
Vincent J. Cacia

Just a quick note to let you know how much my son and I enjoyed our Buffalo hunt on February 22nd.  We could have not asked for a more considerate and patient guide than Mark.  I was especially impressed with the way he treated my 10 year old son like an adult and the way he took my leg problems into account.  You guys were great!  The meat was cut up perfectly and we have enjoyed some already-delicious and tender.  Once again-a hunt of a lifetime and worth every penny
Thank you!
Wes and Jake Belcher

I have brought both of my sons to Tioga to hunt Boar with bow when they turned 10.  Not only were both boys successful in harvesting trophy's the experience they each enjoyed will be remembered for a lifetime.  The people at Tioga were wonderful.  They were truly focused on providing my sons with a quality experience.  They will be strongly recommended by our family.
Sincerely,
