The past Two Hunting Seasons in Pennsylvania Have Been the Safest on Record

Let’s face it – hunting can be dangerous. Although we all take the correct precautions and prepare accordingly, accidents are an unfortunate part of what we do, but according to recent statistics, the past two hunting seasons in Pennsylvania have been the safest on record!

According to this Lancasteronline.com article, “For only the second time since shooting accident records started in 1915, there were fewer than 30 shooting-related incidents in 2014 among hunters pursuing deer, turkeys, bears, squirrels, pheasants, rabbits and other game.” That is certainly good news, and all you hunters should give yourself a hearty pat on the back!

The decrease in accidents can be attributed to a number of factors, but perhaps the most important factor is hunter education, with many students receiving their basic hunter-trapper education certification in Pennsylvania. Certification programs, along with mentored youth hunting programs, help to build a culture of knowledgeable hunters who know the land and the rules. The more hunting education there is, the better we all are.

At Tioga Boar Hunting, we are very proud of these statistics and do our best to promote safe hunting in Pennsylvania. Contact us today to book a hunting trip and for more information regarding hunting accidents, or the lack thereof, check out the rest of the article!
