There are three ways to go to college these days. There’s living on campus, commuting, or doing most of it “online,” from a computer. Now think about hunting… you could play hunting video games, but it’s not the same as the real thing, right? And you could go somewhere for a couple hours and hunt, but it’s not the same as staying overnight with a group of guys, right?
Tioga Boar Hunting recommends staying at a lodge, especially for novice boar hunters. This way you get to have the camaraderie of a true hunting experience with other people who you get to know not just for a couple hours but for a couple days in a row. A lodge is basically a hunting hotel, where you get to hang out in common areas and then get a decent night’s sleep in your room.
Why Hunting Lodges Are the Best
Lodges are great because they have showers! After a long, smelly day of hunting, wouldn’t it be nice to take a long, hot shower to ease your weary bones? Meanwhile, lodge showers can get the stink off of you. After all, you probably don’t want to smell of boar scent all day and all night, right?
Now if you do manage to bag a boar, staying at a lodge is a good idea because you might get bacon out of the deal. After all, lodges have fridges, stoves, ovens, and meat lockers.
Having a room at a lodge is good because you’ve got a place to put all your “stuff,” and it’s not going to get wet (from the rain) or eaten by a bear or totally covered in mud. With a lodge you can come and go as you please, setting your own hours for hunting pursuits.
A lot of novice boar hunters appreciate having a beer with one another at the lodge after the day’s hunt. It’s a chance to share information about hunting, tips, advice, news and, hopefully, lots of laughs, too.
